A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
